Why is there more than one website? We
divided our very large website into two parts to keep loading time down for
our customers. As a general rule, quilts, fabrics and batting are on the
Hickory Hill site. Patterns, notions and free stuff is on the
QuiltBus site. Books are on Quiltweb. Some items are on
Quiltbug.com, which is our brick-and-mortar store.
How do I order something on line? There should be a hyperlinked name or number below the item you would like to order. A hyperlink looks like this:
hyperlink. From there you will go to a page where you will choose your shipping
method and then to the order page. You choose the amount you want to
order on that page.
After
you have chosen your payment method, you will be redirected to a secure site
to encrypt your ordering information. Look for the lock and key in the
lower right hand corner of your screen.If you have given us a correct
E-mail address, you will receive confirmation of this order from
quiltbug.com@gmail.com. Please
whitelist this address so it
doesn't end up in your junk or spam folder. We use Click-n-ship for our
priority mail shipping, which automatically sends you the tracking number. To
receive this notification, you will need to whitelist
USPS_Shipping_Services@usps.com also.
How do I pay?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express both online and
over the telephone. Our toll free number is 888-817-6577. You can
also send a check or money order to PO Box 273, Esperance NY 12066 or
send us a Paypal. Your
credit card will reflect a charge from Quiltbug.com.
What are your shipping and handling charges?
We offer several shipping options:
- Priority Mail We generally ship by priority mail (or Global
Priority if you are not in the US) because other methods are slower and less reliable.
For those using Global Priority,
one yard of quilt fabric weighs approximately 4 oz. One pound of quilt fabric is
about 4 yards. If you are in Canada, you have the option of
Global Priority to Canada or Airmail. If you would like us to send
your package airmail, choose the priority mail
option. We can't send priority mail to Canada, but the postage amount is
about right for airmail and it will save you the cost of the more expensive
Global Priority shipping. Please note: We use Click-n-ship for our priority mail shipping.
This will
automatically send you the tracking number if you give us your correct E-mail
address. You might want to whitelist USPS_Shipping_Services@usps.com
to be sure you receive this notification.
- Batting, because of it's size, is normally sent by FedEx
or UPS. Shipping is slightly higher.
- Patterns (and other small, flat notions) that will fit in
an envelope can be sent for $3.50 each. First Class package mail tends to be a bit slow, so if you are in a hurry for the
pattern, choose Priority. If you are in Canada, we will ship patterns by air mail but the
delivery charge increases to $4.00.
- Free Shipping. Orders that total over $100 that are
being sent to a Continental US address will be shipped for free.
Our shopping cart figures shipping based on the amount of the purchase and
the shipping option you chose. If something seems odd, send
us and E-mail or give us a call toll free at 1-888-817-6577. If you accidentally charge yourself the wrong
amount (for example, using the Patterns option for fabric), we will amend it at this end.
I am a member of the military - how can I get
free shipping? As long as you are using a military address, we will not
charge you shipping. Now, our shopping cart *WILL* charge you shipping
as it doesn't recognize these addresses, but don't worry. We will fix it
at this end. Just to be safe, you might want to mention the fact you are
military in the "special comments" section.
How long will it take me to receive my order? We pride ourselves
on shipping same day or next day, provided those are normal business days.
This doesn't always happen! We really work hard to keep stock at hand at all
times but if your item is out of stock we may hold your order for a day or two
until new items arrive. If we aren't sure, we may ship your order with a
notation that other items are backordered. The picture below
shows delivery times.
Please don't count on this as being exact, particularly during the holiday
season.


How long does a backorder take? Theoretically, no more than a week. If you have been waiting longer, PLEASE let us know.
What if I don't like an item?
We do accept returns on almost all items provided they are returned
within 30 days in saleable condition, but we do not refund shipping unless
it was our error. Please call first! Our toll free number is
